COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-DR/HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG-DR/HMGP)

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD NOTICE

City of Chipley, Florida, is considering applying to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Funding to match up to Twenty-Five (25%) of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program projects that the City has applied for and received grant awards or is in the process of being awarded grant funding through Florida Division of Emergency Management.

The State of Florida has been allocated approximately $109,000,000.00 that will be made available to cities, town, and counties on a competitive basis to undertake eligible community development activities as a “match” program to the Florida Division of Emergency Management Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). These funds must be used to meet one of HUD’s National Objectives which are to benefit low- and moderate-income persons or to meet an Urgent Need.

The project which City of Chipley plans to use the Twenty-Five (25%) CDBG-DR matching funds are as follows:

The purpose of this comment period will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the applications. This Public Comment Period will be open from 9/18/21 until 9/28/21.
