Notice is hereby given to all interested persons or firms that sealed bids, submitted in triplicate, will be accepted by the City of Chipley, located at the Chipley City Hall, 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida 32428, until 2:00 p.m., local time on April 9, 2021 for the following:
Chipley Sale of Surplus Property - Parcel No. 00000000-00-2947-0000 - 506 Main Street, Chipley, Florida.
The property is described as follows:
A lot bounded by beginning at a point 213 feet South of the Northwest corner of Lot 7 of Block I of the Hagerman Addition to Chipley, in Section 33, Township 5 North, Range 13 West, and running thence South 100 feet to the Southwest corner of the N 1/2 of said Lot 7, thence East along the Southern boundary of said N 1/2 of Lot 7 to Florida State Road 77, thence in a Northeasterly direction along the West side of said road a distance of 100 feet, thence to point of beginning, according to plat of said Addition on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Washington County, Florida;
ALSO, a parcel of land bounded by beginning at a point 93 feet South of the Northwest corner of Lot 7 in Block I of the Hagerman Addition to Chipley, according to the aforesaid plat, in Section 33, Township 5 North, Range 13 West, and running thence East to Florida State Road 77, thence Southwesterly along the West side of said road 60 feet for a starting point, thence Southwesterly along the West side of said road 60 feet, thence West to the Western boundary line of said Lot 7 to a point 213 feet South of the Northwest corner of said Lot 7, thence North 60 feet, thence East to the starting point.
The Property will be sold “as is” with no warranty expressed or implied. The City of Chipley urges prospective bidders to view the Property before submitting a bid. Access to the Property will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., by contacting Patrice Tanner, Assistant City Administrator/City Clerk, at (850) 638-6350.
In addition, the successful Bidder shall be required to clear the Property of all code violations within 60 days after closing. The City shall convey title to the Property by Special Warranty Deed.
Bids will be opened in the Meeting Room in the City of Chipley City Hall located at 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida 32428 at 2:05 p.m., local time on April 9, 2021. The Bids will be presented to the City Council at the regular City Council meeting to be held on April 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., local time.
IMPORTANT: Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked: “Chipley Sale of Surplus Property 506 Main Street” and identified by the Business Name (if applicable), Name, Number of the Bid, along with the Date and Time of Opening. Bids will be received by either hand delivery to the City Clerk’s Office located at 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida or by mail to the City of Chipley, Attention: City Clerk’s Office, Post Office Box 1007, Chipley, Florida 32428, by the bid closing deadline as set forth above. Bids received after that date and time will not be considered.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason as it may deem to be in the best interest of the City of Chipley. The City Council also reserves the right to waive any formalities in the bidding process.
